Help please...

I am breaking the rules and doing a double post because I need some help. When I save my items as PDFs I simply create them in word, hit print, click pdf, save as pdf, and password protect. But for some reason this is happening to my Grammar activity and I don't know how to get rid of it...

You see the two lines on the right side? I didn't put those there. They aren't there in the word document. And I have no idea how to get rid of them. Does anyone know how? And if so, can you please help me? Thanks!

I'm a list kinda girl...

If you haven't noticed... I like my to do lists. I don't like how long they can get, but I like being able to cross things off when I finish them. I like seeing that I have made progress. And so I think each week, I will post my to do list here, just so I can cross off. Since we had to head out of town this past week, I didn't get as much done as I planned. And if you saw my post the other night, you know I spent hours typing up my first social studies unit plans only for them to disappear. No worries, I finally got it all done and printed. So without further ado (and because I know you are just dying to see my to do list...)

Leftover from last week...

1. Organize all unit 1 SS materials

2. Order energizers and closing circles book (when it is available to ship)

3. Make Blooms question card set- just need to cut and put on rings

4. Copy homework pack for week 2

5. DL daily fix it for Aug (will be doing this during the big sale tomorrow)

Yea... that "not so bad" to do list is now out of control... so I am off to do as much as I can with a sick princess in the house.

Argh! (+ a quick giveaway)

Just a post to get out my aggravation... I just spent HOURS (about 3 today plus a few hours on a couple other occasions) typing out my unit plans for my first social studies unit. I hit save seriously 10 times. And when I closed it something got corrupted. And 23 lessons went down to 5! I am sick about it! That is all. A frustration venting post. Now... I am going to try to get as much of this done AGAIN as I can before we head out onto the road for 15 hours.

Day 1...

Well... ready for how crazy my memory is. I remember to put my camera in my school bag. I had full intentions of taking pictures of my class before the kiddos showed up. Then, when I got in there, I saw my computer had restarted over the weekend, taking away my pretyped greeting for the class away. So I had to redo that. Then I had to reinstall my Disney instrumental music on my computer... and iTunes was not being cooperative. Then by the time I got that all taken care of... in came my first student. And it continued that way for the next hour... and then, well, I bet you can guess where this is going. I did not take a SINGLE picture of the classroom. But, I did have a good day. I managed to get all supplies organized and put away. We did a couple getting to know you activities, and tried out some bits and pieces of morning meeting. I originally had 22 kids on my roster. One switched classes before the day even started bringing me to 21. Then throughout the day 3 more registered. I am now up to 24... with 23 desks. And I will be out the rest of the week, as we have to travel for a funeral for my aunt. So I fear what my class will look like when I get back next week. Hopefully the kids won't make too much of a mess so that I can take pictures. And hopefully they aren't buck wild when I get back. This first week is so important, but right now it is more important to be with my family. It is very difficult for me to give control of my class to a sub, especially for a full week, the first week of school. Luckily, I OCD planned this first week so my detailed plans were already done. Hopefully there is enough to keep them busy. And next week, I am going to pretty much treat it like week 1. I know it will mean I am a week behind in the curriculum, but I will figure it out somehow. OH... I did forget to post THIS funny moment... Last week while attempting to put the finishing touches on my classroom, I was hanging a Super Spellers display. I wanted to hang the pieces that I will be using in a ziploc bag on the wall. This way when students get their Super Speller piece to display, they can just pick one from the bag and hang it up. Anyways... I went to staple the bag on the wall (yes, in the trailer I can staple right into my walls... classy I know...) and it wouldn't staple. It was too... soft. Well, I called my trailer-mate and friend over to show her this. And when I went to demonstrate what happens when I try to staple, things got a little out of hand... and this happened.
Yes ladies and gentlemen (if there are any reading)... I put a hole in the wall. It doesn't look too bad because I put the "wallpaper" back in place. But it is round enough for the front of the stapler to go through. Amy and I were hysterical... it may not seem that funny to you. But teach in that trailer for a couple years and trust me... it is funny!

Considering my class isn't even equipped with a sharpener this would be a GREAT addition! I have an electric one that I purchased but after have 3 break, I will NOT let the students use it. One week...and Currently

That is how long it took for me to completely lose what was left of my memory. I was determined to take pictures of my classroom today (after our week of inservice this was the first time I walked into my room for the week). Don't you know I forgot my camera at home. So I figured, ok, fine, I will take pictures with my phone and just use those. Well then I got carried away and forgot!

So what have I got for you after a week of no posts? I give you a completely exhausted blogger/teacher/mommy who can't even think straight. But I do have some questions for my 50 (FIFTY!!) followers...

1. What is the average class size where you teach? My class this year is STARTING with 22 kids. I have NEVER started with that many. Ended with that many yes. Even a week into the year had that many yes. But STARTED with that many... no way! I am a little nervous here because my room is insanely small (half of a portable) and I only have 23 desks and minimal room for any more!

2. Does anyone teach in an IB school? If so, do you have any resources, sites, ideas, tips, help, ways to keep my sanity for me?!

Ok so my there B2S must haves...

1. My laminator. I have had it for years and I have used it so much this summer that I think it is on the outs. I think I finished everything I need so far thankfully. But I foresee me needing a new one soon.

2. My copier. We have a limited number of copies each month (400 to be exact). And with 22+ kids and a couple tests a week and a newsletter required each week, those 400 copies don't get you very far. So a couple years ago I forked over the $250 and bought my own copy machine for home. The toner is about $80 and I usually use 1-2 a year. It may seem expensive but it is worth it for me to not have to worry about being short a few copies. And I also don't have to get to school extra early to use the machine if I forgot to do something. I can do it from home.

3. My 31 school bag. I love love love it! I got this pattern (sorry this is so small, I don't have a picture of mine so I used the image from the 31 catalog).

and I put an open top file box inside it. I am obsessed with it. And I love that I can just take the box out if I need the bag for something else (I used it when I took a photography class to put all my stuff inside).

Well...my procrastination must come to an end. My husband will be home from work in about an hour and I would like to be done working for the night by the time he gets home! I promise once this to do list is done I will work on some posts with substance!
